Non-Sewered Sanitation

In order to support the development of safe, effective, and affordable sanitation systems that are suitable for use in parts of the world without networked sewers, sanitation experts from around the globe came together to draft an international technical standard for sustainable non-sewered sanitation systems. I served as the technical editor for the private standard adopted as the basis for the ISO International Workshop Agreement on Non-sewered sanitation systems (ISO IWA 24:2016), which in turn served as the basis for the document now progressing through the ISO standardization process.

“The changes from ISO are minimal. I think that that speaks to how well you’ve done with the document!”
